Graded Mint 9 by Beckett Vintage Grading. It is difficult to conceive how this breathtaking 1952 Topps Baseball #37 Duke Snider (Black Back) cornerstone has withstood the past decades in such a remarkable state of preservation. This “giant size” bubble gum card comes from the first series in which the confectioner stood toe-to-toe with Philadelphia’s Bowman Gum Inc. for trading card supremacy. Always a fan favorite, this early “Duke” showcases the Flatbush star as he unleashes a lethal swing against a classic ballpark backdrop. Impeccable corners, crisp edges with a slight factory cut, pinpoint centering and blistering obverse hues are all attributes of the investment quality canvas. Of the (6,203) 1952 Topps cards submitted to this third-party service, only a total of (5) have reached this lofty tier with Snider being the lone Hall of Famer among that group. In comparison, PSA and SGC have judged a total of (5) Snider’s equal to this. For those with an eye for the very best this elite Snider, from the “granddaddy of the modern baseball set,” is an optimum choice. One of only (3) confirmed of the tougher black-back Snider's at the elevated grading tier.
